Jessica Bush Biography

Jess is passionate about helping athletes get the most from their training, recovery, and performance. She holds a BSc in Kinesiology and a Masters in Applied Exercise Physiology from the University of Calgary and is completing a PhD in Sport Science through the Auckland University of Technology, where her research focuses on training organization, managing fatigue, and optimizing performance.

She’s a CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist (High Performance specialization), an ISAK Level II Anthropometrist, and an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.

Her background is as a team sport athlete, having played both soccer and field hockey competitively. This led to a love for training and launched her career as a strength and conditioning coach. While working at TCR during her masters, she discovered a passion for cycling and has since gotten into coaching mountain biking courses. Over the past 15 years, Jess has worked in high-performance sport across Canada and New Zealand, applying science to support athletes at the highest level.

These days, she’s most enthusiastic about outdoor adventures, from hiking and mountain biking, to running and road riding, to nordic skiing, and downhill skiing/snowboarding. Jess is excited to be back at TCR after more than a decade and is always keen to have a chat about training when you stop by.
